Summary

Description
English: An SVG format of my previous file, Teletherapy Capsule.jpg. A diagram of a typical teletherapy radiation capsule comprised of the following:
  1. an international standard source holder (usually lead),
  2. a retaining ring, and
  3. a teletherapy "source" composed of
  4. two nested stainless steel canisters welded to two
  5. stainless steel lids surrounding an
  6. internal shield (usually uranium metal or a tungsten alloy) that protects a
  7. cylinder of radioactive source material, often but not always cobalt-60. The diameter of the "source" is 30mm.
Date
Source Own work. This image is based on a similar technical drawing of such a capsule from US patent 3588031 located here. I have changed the viewing angle slightly, changed the degree of completeness of each cylindrical component, and added color, shading, and texture to this version.
