Description

People in Columbus, Georgia awaiting polio vaccination during the earlier days of the National Polio Immunization Program.

In the early 1950's, there were more than 20,000 cases of polio each year. After polio vaccination began in 1955, cases dropped significantly. By 1960, the number of cases dropped to about 3,000, and by 1979 there were only about 10. PHIL 2445

Looks early 1960s from visible autos and fashion. Anyone spot something providing better dating?
The film Babies and Breadwinners was made to promote this event; it's from 1961, so this is likely 1961.
