Summary
| Description |
English: Transvaginal ultrasonography showing an IUD with copper as a hyperechoic (rendered as bright) line at right, 3 centimeters away from the uterus at left. The IUD is surrounded by a hypoechoic (dark) foreign-body granuloma. The urinary bladder is seen beneath it, close the the circular tip of the ultrasound probe at the bottom.
The patient was a 29 year old woman who had a painful IUD insertion 2 months earlier. |
