(A) Diffuse reduction in the pigmentation of the retina, was clearly observed in the retina of a patient as the color of the retina was slightly redder compared with healthy tissue. (B) Retina of the patient exhibited a universal loss of retinal pigment, resulting in the choroidal blood vessels being clearly visible; however, this retinal pigmentation pattern was not representative of oculocutaneous albinism based on the fundus examination. (C) Retina of the patient exhibited irregular retinal depigmentation with the entire retina having a deep red color, similar to highly myopic eyes. (D) Retina of the patient exhibited regional depigmentation, which was evident around the optic disc and periphery where the choroidal blood vessels were visible; however, the macular pigment was normal. OA1, ocular albinism type 1.
