Español: El presidente Mauricio Macri recibió a los directivos de la empresa estadounidense AMGEN, líder en el desarrollo de medicamentos innovadores para el tratamiento de enfermedades graves.

La audiencia se realizó en el despacho presidencial de la Casa Rosada, en el marco de la inauguración de la sede y laboratorio de control de calidad de alta tecnología de la compañía en el partido bonaerense de Vicente López.

La empresa, que tiene presencia en el país desde 2010, anunció una inversión inicial de 100 millones de dólares.

Prevé realizar una inversión adicional de 10,5 millones de dólares e incorporar 150 técnicos calificados a los 50 que trabajan en la actualidad para la investigación clínica.

Concurrieron a la audiencia el manager y responsable de operaciones comerciales en la región, Ian Thompson; el gerente general de la multinacional en la Argentina, Cristian Videla, y el director de Asuntos Públicos, Nicolás Nobile.

Por parte del Gobierno asistieron la ministra de Desarrollo Social, Carolina Stanley; el secretario de Gobierno de Ciencia y Tecnología, Lino Barañao, el director general de Inversiones de la Agencia de Inversiones y Comercio Internacional, Francisco Uranga, y el asesor de la Jefatura de Gabinete de Ministros Matías García Oliver.

Fundada en 1980 y con presencia en más de 100 países, la empresa biotecnológica se especializa en el desarrollo de medicamentos para seis áreas terapéuticas: cardiovascular, oncología, salud ósea, neurociencia, nefrología e inflamación.
