Summary

Description
English: The French word châtelaine originally meant \"Mistress of the château.\" In the 18th and 19th centuries it came to be applied to an object essential to the lady of every household. It was attached to the belt of her dress and suspended from it were the essential things she might need about the house. Originally a utilitarian object, it later became a fashion item. The set contains a pencil, ivory notepad, pill box, pair of scissors, measure and a whistle.
