| Description |
English: Under a magnification of 3006X, this digitally-colorized scanning electron microscopic (SEM) image depicts a large grouping of rod-shaped, Gram-positive Clostridium difficile bacteria. These organisms were obtained as a result of an outbreak of gastrointestinal illness, and were cultured from a stool sample. The bacteria were extracted using a .1µm filter.
