It is clear that from the source of this image from WWII in Color that the "Copyright : unknown"

Even after knowing this information, the user Akradecki chose to revert this copyright tag twice.

I have reverted because it is clear that this is an image taken by a U.S. serviceman during the course of his duties during WWII, and therefore is in the public domain. If the source says "unknown", but we can determine through obvious evidence that the image id PD, then your persistence in changing the tag is disruptive editing. Source has no bearing if image was originally taken by US government agent in the course of their duties, in this case a member of the military. The {{PD-USGov-Military-Air Force}} tag suffices. Binksternet 07:52, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

And exactly what part of IUP are you referring to? What I read is "You can prove that the image is in the public domain." There's more than one way of doing that. I doesn't say that the source has to say that. It is quite evident that these images are PD, because it would have been physically impossible for anyone other than another serviceman to have taken these images. Please stop wikilawyering. I am seriously concerned that you desire here is deletion at all costs, rather than trying to find a constructive way to improve the encyclopedia by finding a means of keeping these images.
