Irish or Scottish?

I have seen this image normally identified as Scottish mercenaries, which would have been more common on the European continent during that period. What might be confusing is that the Latin Scoti originally meant Irish. Anyone have any more exact information? Daniel the Monk (talk) 14:45, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
