English: Coat of arms of the Danish town Thisted. Based on town seal known since 1584 but since it shows the Madonna and the child it must date from pre-reformatory times. The symbol can have been chosen for the city because St. Mary was the town's patron saint or because the town was once the property of the diocese of Børglum.
