This is the royal figure on the St Andrew's sarcophagus. The figure is dressed like a late antique Roman emperor, baring what is probably a kaiserfibel on the neckline of his garment in the grandest tradition of imitatio imperii. It may therefore be taken as an indirect depiction of the king who commissioned it.(User:Angusmclennon's words from the now deleted original.)
